You will be smelling the salt and watching one of the best Costa Brava landscapes in a 20km round area with no population. This is the biggest almost virgin coastal area of Catalonia. We will go ride from the house to the south. The cadiretes massif is a virgin mountain full of cork trees and mediterrean pines.
The ride combine nice and fun paths with narrow-flowy singletracks to reach the town of Tossa de Mar.
We’ll enjoy a coffe next to the sea with views at a dream castle on the calm and transparent waters of a spectacular beach. Ride through Tossa, an authentic and beautiful old town, one of the most beautiful and complete places on the Costa Brava.
We’ll go back to the mountains to enjoy a dinner with the sea sunset.
Today we’ll ride trails over the sea. We’ll go to the north face of the massif. Today we’ll ride over rounded granite rock singletracks. Most of the trails were built by charcoal manufacturers long time ago and now became a single-track with Moab-style slick rock passes starring the routes.
During the ride you will see several ancient monasteries and churches and you could figure that such a remote place was full of history and not so lonely in the past.
We’ll reach Sant Feliu, where we can have a brake enjoying the beach and get sun energy to go back home.
Today’s route is on the neighbour massif called “Les Gavarres”.
We’ll ride trough the forests around Romanyà de la Selva, a very small charming town made up of a 10th century church and typical Catalan peirale houses. During the route we will pass through some prehistoric monuments such as the Murtra menhir and the Cova d’en Daina Dolmen, dating from 2000 BC.
The Gavarres mountain range has the smallest mountains in Girona, but you can find very steep mixed with flowy sections. The average trails here are short and the soil is pretty dry and loose most of the time.
Last day of your mountainbike holidays in Costa Brava… Is time to say goodbye!!
